MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WSAU) - Marshfield’s Dairyfest might just be the granddaddy of all the June dairy celebrations!
This year’s theme for this year’s 31st annual event is “Fire Up For Dairyfest ” in commemoration of the city’s devastating fire.
One of the largest dairy breakfasts in the country kicks off this morning at 5 am Friday morning. It features breakfast goodies including fresh cheese curds and “secret recipe” scrambled eggs, and you can get yours right up until 10:00 this morning.
Dairyfest continues all weekend long including one of the area’s largest parades starting at 11:00 on Saturday. The parade will feature more than 85 units and 6 marching bands.
Crowds of more than 20,000 are expected to descend on Marshfield this weekend for the festivities. The idea for the Mayor’s Breakfast was first thought up way back in 1981 by former mayor Marilyn Hardacre.
