Bones found in northern Wisconsin are not those of missing Wausau woman

WABENO, Wis. (WSAU) – Wausau police say the bones pulled from a lake in Oconto County and from a farm in Wabeno are not human remains.

There had been conflicting reports after bones had been pulled from Lake Archibald. Some were saying that they were the missing remains of Stephanie Low who has been missing from the Wausau area for several years. The family of Stephanie Low also took part in a search this weekend in Forest County in Wabeno at a location and found skeletal remains.

Wausau police lieutenant Bill Kolb says in a statement that they are not human remains. That work was done by a forensic anthropologist from the state crime lab. Police say there’s nothing conclusive from either site that points to anything from the Low case.

Low has been missing from the Wausau area since October of 2010.
