Primaries narrow field of candidates for spring elections

by

UNDATED (WSAU) The primary for Oneida County judge narrowed the candidates from three to two. Local lawyer John O'Melia and District Attorney Michael Bloom were the top vote-getters. They'll run against each other in April to replace Mark Mangerson, who isn't seeking another term.

There was a Wausau city council primary in the 4th district. Incumbent Jim Brezinski and Duane Maatz were the top vote-getters, and will run-off in April.

An incumbent was eliminated from the Wausau Board of Education. Michael Hartkopf was not among the top vote-getters. The top six were: Youa Xiong, Jeff Leigh, Kathi Whalen Geiger, incumbent Michelle Schaefer, Patrick McKee and Nancy Tobaka-Stencil. They'll run for three school board seats in April.
