BIRNUMWOOD, Wis. (WSAU) – A 20 year old Birnamwood man is accused of killing his father today.
According to reports, 20 year old Joshua Johnson called the sheriff's office around 7:20 this morning to say that his father, 53-year-old Donald Johnson, was dead.
Joshua remained in contact with dispatchers until deputies arrived and was taken into custody without incident. Investigators are out at the scene, but say that a series of aggressive acts overnight lead to the death of Joshua. Authorities have recovered a gun from the scene.
Deputies are investigating the case and holding the younger man as a person of interest. Preliminary charges have been filed with the district attorney's office.
