Packers Prepare For Vikings Again

GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) The Green Bay Packers will move up their normal practice schedule by one day, in order to get ready to host the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday night in the first round of the playoffs.

The players are off today – and they’ll have a mid-afternoon practice tomorrow. They’ll also have full practices on Wednesday and Thursday.

As for injuries, coach Mike McCarthy said this morning that receiver Randall Cobb was close to playing in yesterday’s three-point-loss at Minneapolis – but with his shoulder problem, he was not quite ready. He’ll be re-evaluated tomorrow, but Cobb says he fully expects to play against the Vikings on Saturday.

McCarthy said he’s not getting good news about rookie defensive end Jerel Worthy, who left yesterday’s game with a knee injury. There was no immediate word on the status of receiver Jarrett Boykin, who hurt an ankle at the Metrodome. Clay Matthews and Jordy Nelson were also hurt yesterday, but McCarthy says neither injury appears to be serious.

Also, McCarthy would not say yet whether defensive back Charles Woodson might be ready for the post-season. He suffered a broken collarbone over two months ago.
