MADISON, WI (WSAU) Gary Andersen is getting a very nice raise to become Wisconsin’s next football coach. He made over 700-thousand-dollars in his final season at Utah State, including incentives. The Wisconsin State Journal cited U-W sources as saying that Andersen will make one-point-eight million to two-million dollars a year. That matches what Kevin Graham of K-F-A-N radio in Salt Lake City wrote on Twitter.
He said Andersen will get a five-year contract at Madison which will pay him one-point-eight million dollars the first year, with raises of 100-thousand each season.
Former coach Bret Bielema was expected to get two-point-seven-million next year, had he not left for Arkansas.
Andersen is expected to be introduced tomorrow as Bielema’s replacement.
