WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) - The Wausau Boys and Girls club is looking for your help in completing a challenge grant.
An anonymous donor is offering the club $50,000 if the club can raise that same amount and get 100 new donors by the end of the year. Director Brian Stezenski-Williams says they're just short of that goal. "As of Wednesday morning, we're about 40 people and about $8,000 away from that goal."
Stezenski-Williams says that funding is crucial for the club which has gone through quite a lot of growth. "We used to just be a program for high-school students, but now the Club serves kids as young as 4th grade." The club has also had to dip into reserve funds and run on a deficit in the past year, something that Stezenski-Williams says is not a viable alternative for anyone.
If you'd like to donate to the program, you can click the link on the quicklinks section on this website, or call the club at 715-845-2582.
