WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) - You can take college courses during the upcoming Christmas and New Year’s break and earn up to three credits if you want to. Northcentral Technical College’s Vice President of Learning Shelly Mondeik says you can choose from several accelerated format classes in January during three weeks ibetween the fall and spring semesters.
Mondeik says many class offerings are offered in an accelerated format, saying "We look at each class, and we try to put things in an accelerated format if it makes sense. We want to make sure our students are successful, so not all classes are put in that format. We actually have more than 75 courses that we offer for those three weeks.”
NTC offers the classes, but students from many other schools can take advantage of the Winterim offerings because credits transfer to other schools.. She says, "Some of the universities may not start to the end of January, they're home for a month, this is a way for a person who's taking classes at a university to get ahead for three more credits or catch up if they need to."
Mondeik says many of the classes are also useful for people who want to get a few credits done before they start a program, or if they need continuing education credits for their present job.
