MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) - Prevention Genetics, a rapidly expanding high-tech Marshfield business, broke ground Thursday morning on a new 13 acre, 50,000 square foot facility in the city’s Mill Creek Industrial Park.
Dr. James Weber founded the company in 2004, and says the project was made possible by private-public partnerships with the City of Marshfield, the Central Wisconsin Economic Development organization, and the State of Wisconsin.
When completed next spring, the new $7 million dollar structure will house office space, laboratories, and a 130-seat auditorium for employee educational seminars, which will also be made available for public events.
Prevention Genetics does DNA testing on rare genetic diseases from around the world.
