MERRILL, WI (WSAU) -  A Merrill area man is hospitalized after crashing his car into a tree Wednesday. Lincoln County Sheriff’s investigators say Angus Edyburn drove off highway 107 near Swede Road in the Town of Merrill. He had to be extricated from the vehicle by Merrill Firefighters and a deputy sheriff.

Edyburn was flown to Aspirus Wausau Hospital by Spirit Air for treatment.

Officers believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
