WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis (WSAU) A Grand Rapids man accused of shooting and killing his friend has entered a 'not guilty' plea. 22-year-old Tyler Enkro is charged with the death of Nick Hoffman.
Around 3am Police arrived at a home on 22nd Street at around 3 am last December 18th and found Hoffman shot in the neck. He died after being airlifted to St. Joseph's Hospital.
Enkro said the shooting was an accident. He was initially charged with recklessly endangering safety. The charge was upgraded to homicide by intoxicated use of a firearm after Hoffman's death.
Enkro faces a maximum 50 years in prison. He'll be back in court for pre-trial motions October 19th.
