MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WSAU) - The state’s Secretary of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, Ben Brancel, was in Marshfield on Thursday for the 100th anniversary and re dedication of the UW Marshfield Agricultural Research Station.

Secretary Brancel said the research station is a valuable asset to the state and that, “something that we need is research in food, because the more people that we have, the more food we need, and we don’t have any more space so use it wisely.”

At the town hall meetings Brancel heard questions about the effects of the drought, and the impact of large dairy farms on the state’s dairy industry.
