STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) Work starts on renovating Stevens Point's downtown mall next week. Mayor Andrew Halverson says Centerpoint Marketplace will have workers preparing for demolition of a central area to allow for an extension of third street. Bids will be awarded Tuesday for the Third street road construction work.
Halverson also confirms that a Madison firm is purchasing a large section of the mall. Sara Investment Real Estate will pay the city $400,000 dollars to develop business sites. The Mayor is excited to have the firm involved to develop a variety of new businesses serving the downtown and the new campus.
