Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are taking action to turn their local animal shelter in Tishomingo, OK into a no-kill facility. The couple tweeted links to a news story on the matter from Oklahoma TV station KWTV . The woman running the shelter says she feels pressure from the city to put down dogs there after just three days according to a local city ordinance.

Miranda has taken action and has assurances from the city manager that no dog would be put down this week at the shelter. Miranda tweeted she's meeting with people on the matter Monday.

The Tishomingo shelter was donated by Miranda's Mutt Nation Foundation. Blake tweeted , "THATS why it's so upsetting. Help and assistance from us is only one call away." He added, "Imagine if your dog got put there 3 days before you figured it out?"
