The Ultimate Fighting Championship Light Heavyweight title holder was charged with driving under the influence (DUI) in May (12) after crashing his car into a utility pole and destroying his luxury Bentley.
He had his licence temporarily suspended when he pleaded guilty to the count days after the accident, and faced up to a year behind bars for the crime.
However, Jones, 25, managed to reach a plea deal with prosecutors to avoid jail time and instead pleaded guilty to a count of driving while intoxicated during a court hearing on Tuesday (31Jul12).
Under the terms of the agreement, the sportsman has been barred from getting behind the wheel until next year (13) and must complete a victim impact course within 90 days. He has also been fined $1,000 (£625) and must pay $6,500 (£4,063) in restitution to officials at New York State Electric and Gas to repair the damaged light pole.
