PRESCOTT, WI (WTAQ) - The invasive Asian carp has been found again in the Saint Croix River on the western Wisconsin border at Minnesota. The Gopher State’s DNR a commercial fisherman caught a 30-pound big-head carp Thursday at the mouth of the Saint Croix River near Prescott Wisconsin. About a dozen big-head and silver carp have been caught in the Saint Croix and Mississippi rivers along the Wisconsin border since 1996. Both species of Asian carp are making their way northward on the Mississippi – and officials are trying to come up with solutions to limit the impact of the carp on native species in the water.
