WASHINGTON D.C. (WTAQ) - A tuna product used to make restaurant foods like sushi is linked with a salmonella outbreak which has sickened at least 116 people in 20 states. Five more cases have just been reported in Wisconsin, running this state’s total to 14. No deaths have been reported. Many of the people who became sick reported eating raw tuna in sushi like “spicy tuna,” according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. All five of the most recent cases came from Milwaukee. A voluntary recall of more than 58,000 pounds of frozen raw yellowfin tuna has been announced.
