Man charged with attempted homicide after woman wouldn't get out of "his chair"

RACINE, WI (WTAQ) - Prosecutors in Racine said a man tried to kill a woman because she wouldn’t get up from what he called “his chair” on Thanksgiving. Authorities said 23-year-old Kendrick Carr was at his girlfriend’s house when his lover’s friend sat on what he claimed was his chair. When she wouldn’t get up, authorities said he threw things around the girlfriend’s apartment, grabbed an eight-inch kitchen knife, stabbed a wall, and swung the knife at the woman several times. Somebody then mentioned calling the police, and authorities said Carr ran from the house while yelling threats. Carr is charged with attempted homicide, reckless endangerment, criminal damage, and disorderly conduct. A $20,000 bond was set. Carr is due back in court a week from Thursday, when a judge will decide if there’s enough evidence to order a trial.
