WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) – Marathon County's health department held the official opening of their new facilities at North Central Health Care yesterday.
The department moved into the former gymnasium space at NCHC near the pool this summer. County health officer Joan Theuer says the facility is already helping the department work better. “We're finding time to network in the halls, the lab is right there and it's much easier for us to get to it.” She says the new location also offers a better place to hold the county's health board meetings, which used to be held in the lobby of the old health department.
The new location is also simply easier to find, says Theuer. “We're right on a bus line, and just more customer friendly for the people who are looking for our services.” Theuer is also happy to be so close to the services of the Aging and Disability Resource Center as well as NCHC.
You can find the new department at 1000 Lake View Drive on the campus of North Central Health Care.
