UNDATED (WSAU) Lincoln County clerk Bob Kunkel has died. He was recovering from heart surgery when he passed away Wednesday.
He underwent double-bypass surgery on August 13. He was planning to return to work later this month, and had been keeping in touch with his office and doing some work from home. The nature of the complications from his surgery are not known. His was 58.
There will be visitation at Wade Funeral Home in Merrill, and funeral services are planned for tomorrow at Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill.

Also, Phil Carspecken has died. He was a long-time employee of Wausau Insurance. He wrote many of the company’s publications, and worked on their training films. Some of those films promoted Marathon County as a good place for employees to work and live.
Carspecken retired in 1984. He was 91.
