CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WSAU) – A Marshfield man is again claiming that he was criminally insane when he stabbed an ex-girlfriend’s new lover and two others last fall.

Danny Tuttle entered the not guilty by insanity plea during his arraignment in Chippewa County today.

But a judge refused to order another evaluation since two doctors have already examined Tuttle and ruled he could follow the law and knew the difference between right and wrong at the time of the crime.

The judge said Tuttle will have to pay for another evaluation at his own expense.

A status conference in the case is set for March 29th.

Tuttle has been bound over for trial on attempted homicide for breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s trailer in Cadott in September and stabbing the three victims.
