The Woodchucks finally earned their playoff spot on the final day of the regular season with a 9-7 win Sunday up in Thunder Bay. After a long road trip its a quick turnaround for the squad as they face Lakeshore tonight in Game 1 of the Playoffs tonight at Athletic Park. I'll be in the booth with Sean Kellerman and we will have the action on Foxsports Radio AM1390 & FM 93.9.
It starts a busy week for me as Chris Conley heads out on his yearly trip back East so I will be in the newsbooth for our Midwest radio stations from Wednesday thru Wednesday. I will also be making a couple of appearances for live broadcasts on WSAU from Farm Technology Days in Plover. I'll be at the booths of two of our great sponsors...Tuesday from 10-noon and Wednesday from noon-2 at Swiderski Equipment...and Tuesday from noon-2 and Wednesday from 10-noon at Marth Wood. If you're going to Farm Tech days stop by .
I'll also be keeping up with the pennant race for the Brewers. They have a four game series at Chicago against the re-juvenated Cubs. Chicago cannot be overlooked this week. I was at Miller Park on Sunday. Kershaw was good but the Brewers did not play well. Did see a couple of defensive gems from Rickie Weeks and Khris Davis.
I don't know what to think about the Tony Stewart thing. Will be watching and listening closely. Do know that Rory McElroy is now the best golfer around.
Plover Legion will play for a trip to the Legion World Series today. They have to beat Midland Michigan twice but have made it as far as any Wisconsin team ever. I was a bit disappointed to learn that they had been using an ineligible player all-season which was discovered at the national regional.
Was hoping to see Roseanne Cash when she plays at the Stoughton Opera House in November but the show sold out before tickets went on sale to the general public. Hopefully will be able to to see one of her other shows. I see she's going to be in Winona and St. Paul. Hoping for another Wisconsin stop.
Songs Of The Day (from my I-pod)
No More Words-Berlin (1984) Teri Nunn made this bandone of the more tolerable 80's synth bands
No-No Song-Ringo Starr (1974) Yes...this was a radio hit...not sure we could play it today
