You may have been wondering why there is no Central Wisconsin Baseball Hall Of Fame dinner this year. Normally the voting would have happened already and a dinner held to honor the inductees. Well it seems that the Woodchucks had a hard time getting a keynote speaker from the Milwaukee Brewers to make the trek to Wausau...so the team decided to move the Hall Of fame Induction to the summer and tie it to one of their games at Athletic Park. They are also planning on a permanent Hall Of Fame display at some point at the ballpark. So be watching or listening for more info as it becomes available and make plans to be at the newly remodeled Athletic Park this summer. We will have the Woodchucks games on Foxsports Radio AM1390 & FM 93.9 again this summer and I'll be part of the broadcast crew when I'm available from my Legion coaching duties.
The Woodchucks announced the first two memebers of this summers team. They are both pitchers from the University of Arkansas. Zach Barr is a lefty junior transfer from Central Arkansas and Alex Phillips is a freshman from Nacogdoches Texas.
The Pointers just keep winning, topping Eau Claire last night 74-50. They are now 19-0. The Pointer women also beat Eau Claire. You can catch both teams this Saturday at home against Superior...the women play at 1pm and the men at 3 .
I'll have high school hockey tonight on Foxsports Radio AM1390 & FM 93.9 at 7:pm. It's senior night at Marathon Park as the Wausau East Lumberjacks host Merrill. The last regular season home game...East finishes with five straight on the road.
Songs of The Day...(from my I-pod)
Miracles-Jefferson Starship (1975) a huge hit my senior year in high school was this Marty Balin ballad. We had a jukebox in the cafeteria at Wausau East and this got played alot
Miserlou-Dick Dale & Del-Tones (1963) although it was an old Turkish folk song...they called it surf music in the early 60's when Dick Dale did it...and no this isnt a put on...these guys were considered kinda dangerous
