Kate Middleton's first official portrait was unveiled today and it getting mixed emotions with many saying it makes her look much older than her age of 31.
The artwork - by award-winning artist Paul Emsley - was commissioned by the National Portrait Gallery and, following her suggestion, depicts her natural persona.
According to the Telegraph, during a 10-minute private viewing on Friday morning, the Duchess liked what she saw saying, "It's just amazing, I thought it was brilliant."
But the piece - showing Kate's head and shoulders - set against Emsleys' trademark dark background failed to impress.
The Huffington Post mentioned that Kate "might want to untag" herself in this painting, and Robin Simon, editor of the British Art Journal, told the Daily Mail: "Fortunately, the Duchess of Cambridge looks nothing like this in real life. I'm really sad to say this is a rotten portrait." However, Kate and Prince William are reportedly thrilled with this awkward depiction.
I think she look beautiful in the portrait, but yes I agree, she looks MUCH older in it. It also doesn't looke AS beautiful as she really is...if that makes any sense? What do you think of it?
