ESPN SportsCenter host Hannah Storm was front and center as the co-anchor of the 2013 Rose Parade on ABC on New Year's Day, in what became her first public appearance since a frightening accident at her Connecticut home in December.

For the first time, Storm revealed she suffered first and second degree burns to her face, chest, neck, and hands in an explosion she sparked at her outdoor grill on December 11. "It happened in a split second," she later told ABC News. "My hair was on fire, my chest and whole top of my shirt was on fire." Storm's left hand was burned as she pulled her burning shirt off.

Aside from a bandage on her hand, Storm's injuries were invisible to parade viewers -- thanks to cosmetics and hair extensions, she later detailed. "This is all fake hair," she said as she fanned out what appeared to be her real locks. "When the makeup artist brushed an eyebrow on me I almost stood up and kissed her."
Storm said she was eager to return to SportsCenter, but an exact return date was not revealed.
Oh my gosh, how horrible! My heart goes out to Hannah, what a strong woman blessed with amazing children. Prayers and best wishes to her.
