Kanye West and Kim Kardashian surprised the world Sunday when news broke that the rapper and the reality TV star are expecting their first child together. Now, Kardashian has confirmed the news.
"It’s true!! Kanye and I are expecting a baby," Kardashian, 32, wrote on her blog. "We feel so blessed and lucky and wish that in addition to both of our families, his mom and my dad could be here to celebrate this special time with us."
"Looking forward to great new beginnings in 2013 and to starting a family," she added before wishing her fans a Happy New Year.
The pregnancy didn't hold Kardashian back from partying on New Year's Eve. She hosted a bash at the 1Oak Nightclub in Las Vegas, where she told Entertainment Tonight that while she hasn't experienced morning sickness yet, the pregnancy has been somewhat difficult for her thus far.
Kardashian added, "From this stage on it does become easier and funner [sic]...It's not as easy as people think, it is a little painful, there's a lot of growing pains, but I heard it's all worth it, so I'm looking forward to that."
She also spoke with E! News, saying she doesn’t care what the baby's gender is, as long as the child is healthy. Nevertheless, TMZ.com reports, Kardashian -- who's 12 weeks pregnant -- will learn the gender in a few weeks.
Kardashian and Kanye, 35, began dating in April. Kim's divorce from NBA player Kris Humphries has yet to be finalized; they split after 72 days of marriage in 2011.
