We've been seeing unbelievably cold temperatures this winter and the problems that comes with that cold weather includes vehicles not starting, pets not wanting to go potty outside, and high heating bills to just name a few. I found these tips from Sasha Brown-Worsham and The Stir and wanted to share with you ways to help keep those heating costs down at least. I can't help with vehicles not starting and pets not wanting to go outside, sorry.
10 Ways to Cut Heating Costs & Still Stay Warm This Winter:
Socks: Invest in a few pairs of quality knee socks.
Electric mattress pad: An electric blanket would do too.
Get a pet: Not only can you cuddle with your dog or cat but they warm up your bedding while snoozing for you too.
Sweaters: Suck it up and wear a sweater. It's winter, not summer! (I prefer big, loose, warm sweatshirts myself.)
Hot water bottle: They help with muscle aches and pains plus keep you warm under the covers.
Down comforters: Is there warmer bedding out there?
Nylons under jeans: That extra layer does keep you warm and toasty.
Hot tea: Constantly sipping on and holding a mug of hot tea (or coffee, hot chocolate) is probably the best way to stay consistently warm.
Get a humidifier: Apparently it feels a lot colder when it's dry. Who knew?
Energy consultation: Have an expert come in and show you some trouble spots where you might be losing heat, you may need more insulation.
Any to add?
