While Brad Paisley is enjoying life as one of country music's superstars, he tells CNN that he knows that his days at the top are numbered. Brad says, "There's a time that comes when you don't have their ear anymore. Eventually, that's coming, where they're going to be tired of me." He continues, "A large fraction of people are probably saying, 'Yeah, I know, buddy. I'm already there right now.' But that's coming, and I just hope that I can stretch this out for a long time."

Although Paisley is over 10 years into his career, he feels that "people are just discovering me in a large way right now." Brad does share that when the time comes to hang up his hat, there are some things that he won't miss about being in the spotlight. He explains, "You're just not prepared for some of the negatives that go with it, some of the criticisms that you hear, some of the ways that you are so vulnerable when you do this – especially if you make music that matters to you. It's similar to rejection of anything you get in your life." Before he is done, Brad reveals that he wants to add a particular name to the list of people that he has collaborated with in the past. He says, "It's Eric Clapton. I've never even met him. If I say it enough, maybe he'll go, 'All right, fine, shut up! I'll do it!'"
