Despite poor reviews, New Moon, the second installment in the Twilight series, has set box office history, breaking all records for midnight runs with an estimated $26.3 million. The last film to hold the title? Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which made $22.2 million this summer. Besides New Moon's impressive debut, Twilight was re-released on 2,057 theaters nationwide Thursday night and managed to gross $1.3 million. New Moon is still expected to earn more than $85 million during its first weekend (it has run up the biggest advance sales of any film in history).
