American Idol's ninth season premieres January 12th on Fox, and Shania Twait will be there. She's a guest judge on the January 19th episode covering auditions in Chicago. Shania's appearance was filmed back in August along with Idol judges Simon Cowell, Kara DioGuardi and Randy Jackson. Other guest judges joining the team for Idol auditions include Mary J. Blige, Victoria Beckham, Kristin Chenoweth, Neil Patrick Harris and Joe Jonas.

In other Shania news, she spent the Christmas holiday in the North Country of her native Ontario, Canada and got stuck in a blizzard on the way. What's usually a two-and-a-half hour drive turned into a seven-hour trek due to heavy snowfall and accidents on the highway. Shania writes on her website, quote, "We were very lucky that we had a full tank of gas, a heavy, sturdy vehicle and some groceries in the back." Shania kept her cool by texting her son Eja and rumored boyfriend Fred while stuck in the snow. Once she got to the North Country, Shania took in a few hockey games and played in the snow. She also promises some exciting news for her fans in the New Year.
