Carrie Underwood

CARRIE UNDERWOOD's An All-Star Holiday Special premieres tonight on Fox, featuring big-name guests such as BRAD PAISLEY, DOLLY PARTON and fellow American Idol winner DAVID COOK. CHRISTINA APPLEGATE and KRISTEN CHENOWETH also join Carrie on the show, which she describes as, quote "a holiday special mixed with a variety show, mixed with lots of singing [and] lots of guests." Carrie adds, "When I think of the holidays...I think of family specials, and I think this fits right in. Hopefully, everybody can get together and hang out and have fun and enjoy."

In addition to singing her own hits, holiday classics and a few new tunes from her album Play On, Carrie is also participating in some skits with her mom CAROLE, who tries her hand at singing on the show. Even though Carole pretty much butchers the TAMMY WYNETTE classic "Stand By Your Man" in the sketch, Carrie says, quote, "She had so much fun with it, and everybody's gonna love her."

Another skit features Carrie's beloved rat terrier ACE. Carrie has always wondered what Ace thinks about, so they came up with a sketch featuring NEIL PATRICK HARRIS as the voice of Carrie's pup. She says, quote, "We had to kind of tone it down a little bit, 'cause they got a little carried away. But it was just a lot of fun."

Carrie teams up with Kristen Chenoweth and Christina Applegate to perform the '60s girl group classic "Be My Baby" while wearing pink dresses and blonde beehive wigs. Carrie also sings a duet with BRAD PAISLEY thanks to the power of digital video technology, since he wasn't able to be in Los Angeles for the taping."

David Cook

Carrie and fellow Idol champ David Cook also perform a skit on the show as well as a possible duet. They taped a performance of VAN HALEN's "Why Can't This Be Love," but David said Friday that there were some problems getting the rights to use the song. That means the song might not be in the show, but the only way to find out for sure is to tune in to Carrie Underwood: An All-Star Holiday Special tonight at 7:00 on Fox.
