Warning. This is one of my heavier, slightly political Blogs. If you just want the Keyword, scroll down.

Yes, today's Blog is lame, but not as lame as this picture...
In the interest of full disclousure, I am neither a Democrat, nor Republican and vote Libertarian whenever the opportunity presents itself.
One of my daily reads is the Great Country Morning Show's newsman's Blog. Chris Conley runs a daily op-ed piece here. I don't always agree with everything that Chris writes, but I always find his take on the day's issues thought provoking.
Today's piece irritated me a bit.
As a small-government minded libertarian-type, I'm not completely sold on the Health Care Reform bill. Chris's Blog spelled out one of my main reservations quite well.
The thing is, I have a hard time buying the sincereity of the anti-health care reform crowd.
Under Bush, this country had 8 of some of the most business-friendly years this side of Reagan. Was any of this economic boon used to increase average wages or hold down insurance premiums? In some cases, yes. In too many others, no.
Chris's story about his friend is tragic, but stories like that are what brought about the legislation in question.
There's a saying that goes something like, "Hungry people don't stay hungry for long." If Americans feel like they're getting the shaft economically, history has shown that they have no problem voting themselves a bigger slice of the pie through their representatives.
I'm not saying it's right. I'm not saying it's fair. What I am saying is that's the way it is. In my experience, dealing with things they way they are instead of the way I want them to be is a productive way to go.
This American Life did a fantastic job of breaking down the health care issue in this and this.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed on Health Care Reform. There are parts of it that my insulin dependant diabetic self likes. There are parts that my libertarian self is a bit leery of. Time will tell, but then again, it always does.
Your TTPK Hint for yesterday is: "tick tock"
