After watching the Badger mens basketball team shoot so poorly on Sunday I wasnt expecting much last night when they played at Michigan State. Bo Ryan's bunch struggled once again in a 58-43 loss shooting under 30%. They went from having a chance at the conference title to fifth place in the Big Ten with the loss. They finish the regular season on Sunday at Penn State. Unless they can figure out the shooting problem its hard to figure they would make much noise in the Big Ten Tournament or the NCAAs.

The Badger women upset Illinois in the Big Ten Tournament yesterday. Thye play Purdue this afternoon.

The Brewers have won four straight Cactus League games. Remember the name Khris Davis. The outfield prospect has shown his power this spring. He homered for the 3rd straight day giving the Brewers a 4-3 win over the D-Backs.

Remember yesterday when I said there wasnt much interest in the World Baseball classic? Well forget that...I watched the end of the Italy-Mexico game last night and it was excellent. Little regarded Italy rallies against SF Giants closer Sergio Romo and Pirates closer Jason Grilli struggles but closed it out with the bases loaded and the winning run on second as the Italians stunned Team Mexico 6-5. The Mexicans now face a must-win game tonight against Team USA with Brewer star Yovanni Gallardo scheduled to pitch. He'll face teammate Ryan Braun which should be very interesting. Area girls hoops teams to advance to the sectional finals included Wausau Newman, Rapids Assumption, Neillsville, Nekoosa, Colby & Owen-Withee.
