I take a vitamin supplement every day. Not just any vitamin supplement. My super green vitamins have large doses of all of the vitamins and minerals that the generic ones have but they also contain phytonutrienets and fruit and vegtable extracts that cover my sometimes horrendous diet that doesnt always include those things. Since I've been taking these I have rarely if ever been sick. They certainly enhance my performance every day. The argument is tiresome but continues to rage over what is and is not a PED. SI.com reported this week that Ray Lewis took something called deer-antler velvet extract to help him recover from a torn tricep muscle. It supposedly is banned. Really?? Deer-antler velvet extract is banned. I know athletes will try almost anything to help them recover from an injury. there are reports that Kobe Bryant and others got to Europe for a special blood treatment. Now I'm not a doctor and have no idea if deer-antler velvet extract can or cannot help recovery but if we are going to ban any alternative treatment for to get or stay healthy it seems to me that we are shooting ourselves in the foot. Big Pharma is fighting to get rid of alternative and pharma-nutrional supplements...I don't think professional sports leagues should help them do it.
Brandon Jennings is making the Bucks decision easy. He has played so well this year that I don't think there is any way that the Bucks don't re-sign him. He had 30 again last night in a stomping of Detroit. are the Bucks a great team...no, but they have shown they can beat almost anybody and with Jennings, Monta Ellis, & Mike Dunleavy playing at a high level, would give some teams fits in the playoffs. They have a big game tonight at home vs Chicago. Too bad its the second night of a back-to-back.
The Badgers didnt get to the free throw line once last night in their loss to Ohio State. Bo Ryan didnt give the post game comments last night leaving the job to an assistant. You can bet he didnt trust himself to comment on the officiating. It would seem to me to be impossible to go through an entire Big Ten game without shooting a free throw even if you did shoot alot from outside.
There was an upset in high school boys basketball last night. Marshfield beat Stevens Point 60-53 to drop the Panthers from the ranks of the unbeaten in the Valley Conference. DC Everest has a chance to catch the Panthers. They play Point again at the end of the season.
Songs Of The Day (from my I-pod)
