The hoops are heating up as we cruise closer to March Madness but before that happens we get to enjoy a Big Ten season that is shaping up to be one for the ages. The Big Ten is clearly the best basketball conference in America and the teams at the top keep knocking each other off as six teams still have a shot at the title. The latest of course was Wisconsin knocking off 3rd ranked Michigan on saturday is fabulous style. Ben Brust has a game that he will remember for the rest of his life and once again the Badgers knock off a Top 5 team at the Kohl Center. Remember back in December when Wisconsin was struggling and some thought that this was going to be a lost season. Bo always seems to find a way to get his team to come together as the season progresses and right now Wisconsin plays together as well as any team in the country. Now it's not always pretty and they can still struggle to score at times...but the old adage still holds true...defense wins championships and the Badgers are one of the teams in the hunt down the stretch.

I have disparaged Illinois over the last month or so for being a paper tiger. After beating up on non-conference foes they have struggled in the Big Ten season especially with their shooting. But this week the Illini seem to have righted the ship with wins over Indiana and Minnesota...or it just may be the parity of the Big Ten this year.

As the weather sucks for the upper midwest and east...the south is welcoming baseball teams as Spring Training opens this week. Teams are in a week early as players prepare for the World Baseball Classic. The Brewers report tomorrow and have their first official workout on Wednesday.

The Bucks are suddenly struggling. They have dropped 3 in a row and are now in the 8th playoff spot in the East. They can get healthy with a win over the struggling Washington Wizards tonight. You can hear the game on Foxsports AM1390 & FM 93.9.
