A Work In Progress

That's the term that is used whenever a team has questions to begins a season. For the first time in awhile, the Badger basketball team has some questions and last night a hot-shooting Florida team made them pay. Despite causing 20 turnovers the Badgers lost to the Gators 74-56. Florida shot over 80% for much of the first half and finished over 60% for the game. Wisconsin shot only 35% from the floor and 29% from three point range. It was the first time the Badgers have given up more than 70 points since the 2010-2011 season. One bright spot was Sam Dekker. The freshman shot 4-8 for 11 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists off the bench. Bo Ryan said they got good looks at the basket early and just didnt knock down the shots...that bodes well down the road as the shots start falling...and you know the coaches will improve the defense as ther season progresses....we'll know alot more abou this team by the time the Big Ten season begins in January.

The Bucks win again...this time against a team that they will probably be battling all season for a playoff spot, Indiana. Once again a balanced attack and Milwaukee controlling the tempo. The guards led the scoring and sam dalembert had a good game as well. They play Saturday night at home against New Orleans.

The High School basketball season gets underway tonight. I'll once again be bringing you Wausau East boys basketball on Foxsports1390 and also now on the FM dial at 99.3. Tip time tonight at 7pm.

Songs Of The Day   (from my I-pod)  happy Birthday CW McCall...he's 84 and here is one of his classics

Wolf Creek Pass-CW McCall (1975) this was a minor hit before Convoy blew McCall into the stratosphere

Lay Down, Candles In The Rain-Melanie (1970) written after her appearance at Woodstock. The Edwin Hawkins Singers give it that gospel feel. Alot of people just remember Melanie for her novelty songs...but she has been putting out excellent stuff for years...what a voice!
