It was a weekend of things slipping away. Tiger Woods let the US Open slip away with a terrible Saturday round and Jim Furyk let the Open slip away as well...letting Webb Simpson win it while sitting in the clubhouse.  The Brewers let a 4-1 lead slip away and then watched the Twins win it in the 15th. Those kinds of losses count the same as any other loss, but they seem different. They seem to take more out of you. The Brewers return home for 3 games against Toronto as the season might be slipping away from them. The Woodchucks have dropped five in a row this week. After a good start and some thrilling wins at home, the team cant seem to hold leads or finish the job right now. The first half of the Northwoods League season has slipped away.

One guy who didnt let it slip away was Dale Earnhardt Jr. He won for the first time in four years as he took the Nascar race at Michigan International Raceway. He had the best car and did it in impressive fashion beating Tony Stewart by over five seconds. Earnhardt has always had the most fans of any driver on the circuit but his performance hasnt usually matched his fan interest.

The Wausau Legion Post 10 Bulldogs are off to a good start. They are 7-3 on the season after splitting a pair of doubleheaders over the weekend with Antigo and Chippewa Falls. Its been good pitching and defense for the most part. Post 10 returns to action Tuesday night at Marshfield.

The RSW legion team made up of DC Everest players went 2-2 this weekend at a big invitational tournament in Eagen Minnesota. They bounce back from two losses to open the tournament with impressive wins on Saturday and Sunday.
