The Green Bay Packers enter game 3 of the pre-season tonight with an 0-2 record and Packer nation is in a tizzy. Whats wrong with the Pack? They are supposed to be a Super Bowl team...how can they lose to the Cleveland Browns? Aaron Rodgers is struggling...they have no running game...too many turnovers. Rodgers put it very simply this week...don't worry about it. He said the veterans are working on things...the game plan is very vanilla (in fact he said there is very little game planning that goes into these games as regards the opposing team)...guys are trying to make the team and combinations of players are not what they will be in the regular season. If the Packers go 0-4 in the pre-season does that mean they are not a good team? Does that mean they are still not one of the favorites to go deep into the playoffs?? Of course not. This team has too much talent to not be a force when the games count. Until then, relax .

Packer game day begins at 4pm today on WSAU.

The Brewers are off after a sweep of the Cubs. And Randy Wolf is unemployed after the team released him yesterday. The veteran had struggled this year and only had a 3-10 record that is a bit deceiving since the bullpen blew 8 leads for him. But he was not very effective in his last few starts and since he wasnt going to be brought back next season...the team is better served to look at the younger guys in the month of September. But don't weep for Wolf...he will undoubtably be picked up by some team looking for a vetran strarter dwon the stretch...possibly Oakland who is battling for a playoff spot and just lost Bartolo Colon to a 50 game suspension for elevated levels of testosterone.

High School football begins tomorrow night. I'll once again be bringing you Wausau East football on Friday nights and tomorrow's game will be live as the first half of our double-header on Foxsports1390. The Lumberjacks will take on Wisconsin Rapids at Thom Field trying to build on their surprising playoff appearance last season. They will also be unveiling a new offense featuring alot more passing and four reciever sets. Should be fun.
