Take A Deep Breath

The Green Bay Packers looked sloppy last night in the loss to San Diego. Aaron Rodgers had a quarterback rating of 0.00. The team lost fumbles and interceptions. They lost Desmond Bishop to another injury. MD Jennings looked lost at safety. And....it all means nothing. It's the first pre-season game...and the next pre-season game that means anything...will be the first pre-season game that means anything. As Rodgers put it "We will be fine...We will watch film and get ready for the next game. I felt fine, we just screwed up a couple of third downs and turned the ball over" He's right...take a deep breath Packer fans and relax...unless the injuries get more out of control...it will all work out once the real games begin.

The Woodchucks lost a chance at home field advantage as they lost again last night in La Crosse. It's been a tough week for the Chucks as they got hammered and now face Madison in the final three games of the regular season. The Sunday game is at Athletic  Park.

The Brewers will try and keep it going against the bottom feeding Houston Astros this week. You can hear the game tonight on WSAU at 6:30.

A golden day for the US at the Olympics. Golds for the womens soccer team and womens water polo team. Golds for Ashton Eaton in the Decathalon, Christian Taylor in the triple jump, and 17 year old Clarissa Shields in womens boxing.

The womens hoops team will play for gold on Saturday against France...the men play today in the semifinals.

Watched the movie RED with Bruce Willis and John Malkovich yesterday...very amusing and lots of stuff blows up. Also have started watching the first season of "Homeland" with the great Claire Danes...had heard good things about it and want to get caught up before the new season begins in October.

Songs of The Day   (from my I-pod)

Just Like Me-Paul Revere & The Raiders (1965) these guys rocked harder than you think...here is a clip from the tv show Hullabaloo featuring ther Righteous Brothers as the hosts.

Just Like Noah's Ark-Elton John(2006) from the Lp "The Captain & The Kid" which was an autobiographical sequel to 'Captain Fantastic and The Brown Dirt Cowboy". See if you can hear Elton's dog barking in the middle of the song along with the cowbell...they left it in because the dog was barking on the beat.
