The Highs & Lows Of Stardom

Posted by Tom King on

It's been a tough year for Reggie Bush since the Saints won the Super Bowl in January. He breaks up with his fiancee (although there are those who would say that escaping from the clutches of a Kardashian would be a good thing)....he loses his Heisman Trophy after revelations that he took money from a sports promoter and was not eligible to play his final year of college football....and now he breaks his leg in the Monday night game this week. No word on how long he will be out. The Big Three from that USC offense...Leinert, Bush and Lendale White have certainly not been as successful in the pros as expected.

The Twins do it again...another Central Division title. It's their second straight and sixth in the last nine years under Ron Gardenhire.

Chris Borland is done for the year. The Badger linebacker re-injured his shoulder last Saturday. He will aplly for a medical red-shirt which will give him an extra year of eligibility.

"The Event" is supposed to be the new hot show this year. I watched the first episode this week and it certainly looks intruiging. You can probably catch the first episode on-line if you want to catch up.

Happy Birthday to Tommy Lasorda..the Hall of fame Manager turns 83.

Songs of The Day  (from my I-pod)

Go Your Own Way-Fleetwood Mac (1976) the first single from "Rumors" was this biting tune about the breakup of Buckingham/Nicks. How would you like to have been Stevie Nicks on stage every night having to sing harmony to this song. No wonder she tried to snort the entire country of Bolivia.

God Bless The Child-Billie Holliday (1941) She wrote it and sang the hell out of it. there have been other good versions...Blood, Sweat & Tears did an excellent one...but here is the original.
