Songs of The Day (from my I-pod)
Foggy Mountain Breakdown-Earl Scuggs & Friends (2002) Scuggs wrote the tune in 1949 but check out this video collection of talent picking & grinning on Letterman back in 2001. That's Scuggs, Steve Martin, Vince Gill, Marty Stuart, Albert Lee, Jerry Douglas. They won a Grammy for this rendition.
Folsom Prison Blues-Johnny Cash (1968) Cash actually borrowed very liberally from a Gordon Jenkins song of the Fifties when he originally wrote this. Of course the most compelling version was actually re-corded at San Quentin in 1968.
