The Kansas City Royals havent been a winner for a long time and they have struggled out of the gate again this year. Yesterday they fired manager Trey Hillman...no surprise there...what was surprising was the comment of General Manager Dayton Moore who said that the Royals will continue the quest for a winning culture in Kansas City...and then named Ned Yost as the manager for the rest of the season. To paraphrase Seth Myers...."Really???....Ned Yost???...the same Ned Yost who grumped his way through his Brewer tenure and showed no indication that a winning culture was going to be a by-product of his efforts. He was actually fired during a pennant race which shows you how confident management was of his skills. This won't end well but you certainly can expect Yost to be as sarcastic and pompous as ever.
I had a chance to interview Gregg Allman yesterday. He'll be in concert Tuesday night at the Grand Theater. Don't miss this oppourtunity to see and hear one of the seminal voices in rock history. Tickets are still available at the PAF.
Did we witness the death of pro basketball in Cleveland last night as the cavaliers were bounced by the Celtics and Lebron James heads to the summer of his free agency. That roar you heard last night was Knick and Net fans rejoicing that the chance of James returning to Cleveland has probably slipped away.
