The High School Spring seasons are reaching a point where teams need to win if they are going to stay in the hunt for conference titles. In softball Wausau West salvaged a split with Marshfield yesterday to stay in a second place tie with the Tigers behind SPASH. Baseball action saw Marathon beat Wausau Newman for a second time 2-0 behind a dominant Cody Hanke. Hanke has allowed only one earned run in 33 innings this season. The Marawood crown is theirs for the taking. John Roberts of Wausau West continues to pitch well as the Warriors beat Rapids on Monday. They take on Stevens Point today at home as they try to get back in the Valley race.
Track & Field fans can check out the City Meet today up at East...West, Newman and DC Everest will join the Lumberjacks and who can see newly signed Minnesota Golden Gopher Jessica Waldvogel compete.
The defending Staney Cup champions have their hands full with the upstart Montreal Canadiens who have forced a Game 7 with a win last night
Music fans don't forget Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Gregg Allman will be in concert at the Grand Theater in Wausau next Tuesday. Tickets are available at the PAF office.
Songs of The Day (from my I-pod)
Flowers Never Bend With The Rainfall-Simon & Garfunkel (1966) a beautiful song from one of their stronger LP's " Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Thyme". Garfunkels voice rides high on this one.
Fly Like An Eagle-Steve Miller Band (1976) the title track from Miller's best selling Lp. Check out this concert clip of the song before they recorded it and overproduced it with the organ. I like Miller's more guitar-based stuff. He was called Stevie "guitar" Miller for a reason.
