Missing The Big Guy

Posted by Tom King on

The Bucks run came to an end Sunday afternoon in Atlanta as the Hawks dominated the boards in a 95-74 rout. The Bucks had battled through the loss of Andrew Bogut but the last two games showed how much the inside prescence of the big Aussie was missed. The larger Hawks domintaed the Bucks inside and rejected numerous Milwaukee shots.  It will be interesting how John Hammond approachs this off-season when so many good players are available as free agents including John Salmons who was so effective for the Bucks down the stretch.

The Brewers offense has been almost non-existent out West. The Brewers might be saving themselves some long term pain by not having signed Fielder long-term yet. I believe he will start to hit for power again but it better be soon. The Cardinals are starting to put some distance in the standings. Randy Wolf and Doug Davis have been a bust so far. There is still alot of time to turn it around but you would like to see some evidence of why they signed them.

Joe Pavelski keeps on scoring. two more goals and an assist as the Sharks beat Detroit again. Former badger Dany Heatley also has been a force..he had three assists in the win.

My DVR is broken so no high-def TV until Wednesday when the cable guy can show up. Watching sports in low def is not acceptable anymore....I know there are alot more important things in the world...but when you've been spoiled with high-def...it's hard to go back.

Songs of the Day    (from My  I-pod)

Fire in the Hole-Steely Dan (1972) a nice track from their debut "Can't Buy A Thrill"...excellent piano work.

Fire On The Mountain-Marshall Tucker Band (1975) the South Carolina band was one of the many that popularized "Southern Rock" in the mid 70's. This is from their 4th Lp "Searchin for a Rainbow".
