Inning Eaters

the image The Milwaukee Brewers have one of the better offensive teams in the National League. they also had one of the worst starting rotations in the league last year. General Manager Doug Melvin said he would improve the pitching staff in the off season and he certainly has done that. Randy Wolf, Latroy Hawkins and now Doug Davis are certainly an upgrade on what they are replacing. Wolf and Davis can be those inning eaters that can save a bullpen and anything that keeps Jeff Suppan out of the starting rotation is addition by subtraction. Pitchers & catchers report to Maryvale in a month. The Brewers have improved themselves in the off-season...let's get going!

The Bucks started the 12 game run-up to the All-Star break with a win over Toronto last night. Another double-double for Andrew Bogut. The signing of Jerry Stackhouse is a good one. He can create his own shot but will also share the ball. For 15-20 minutes a game he can help.

Wausau West plays at Spash tonight in high school hockey at KB Willet. The Panthers are coming off a win over #1 ranked Green Bay Notre Dame...Let's see if they've narrowed the gap since West hammered them earlier this season.

Songs of The Day

Don't Hang Up-10cc (1976) the last Lp with the talented original lineup of Eric Stewart, Graham Gouldman, Kevin Godley and Lol Creme. Literate English Pop music and great LP cover art.

Don't Give Up-Peter Gabrial (1986) from the commercially successful 'SO" cd. It's a duet with the underappreciated Kate Bush who released some very interesting stuff in the late 70s and early 80's.
