Both the Olympic men's hockey tournament and the WIAA high school hockey tournament begin today so for the next couple of weeks puckheads should get their fill. the womens Olympic matches have already begun and the high school girls tournament begins Thursday. Wausau West is the local Number 1 seed and it's going to be tough to knock off the Warriors...as deep and as balanced a team as I can remember. First round games tonight include Antigo at DC Everest (on Foxsports1390 WRIG) Pacelli at Merrill, Rhinelander at Lakeland, Tomahawk at Northland Pines, Ashland at Marshfield, Medford at Rice Lake and McDonnell at Chequamegon. West will play the winner of Pacelli/Merrill on Thursday night at Marathon Park. Wausau East awaits the winner of Rhinelander/Lakeland for a Friday night matchup also at Marathon Park

Good news for BAdger Basketball fans...Jon Leuer was back at practice yesterday. Leuer has missed nine games since breaking his wrist back on January 9th. He says he's ready to go and could see some action on Thursday night against Minnesota.
