
A Westchester, PA school has replaced all their chairs with yoga balls. Teachers say that it really helps kids focus and deal with being fidgety.
Imagine sleepy kids rolling to the floor as they drift off to dreamland during class LOL. But seriously, the idea is great. It builds core strength and during lessons teachers can encourage students to stretch to energize them. Besides that it is very good for kids' posture and hips. Plus the additional movement, bouncing and balancing on the ball burns an average of 30 extra calories per day.
After I started working at a desk I was having lower back pain. So my Chiropractor suggested I get a balance ball to replace my office chair. I spoke to my General Manager about it and he said that if I bought it for myself and brought it in I could use it so that's exactly what I did and it has made such a huge difference in my back and hips! It especially helped when I had all that hip pain while I was pregnant.
