Britney Spears out of X-Factor judging gig. Spears and Demi Lovato were added to the judges panel in place of Nicole Scherzinger in hopes that their "star power" would grow its audience, but the show actually suffered a 25% drop in the ratings. Insiders say that Fox has agreed to renew the show on one condition that it drastically reduce it's overhead. Brit's $15 million paycheck is a pretty easy cut especially when she didn't bring what Simon Cowell expected. 

Show insiders say that Cowell wanted crazy head shaving Britney not boring Brit, whose judging vocabulary consists of "awesome" and that's about it. So I chuckle a little when I see who they're talking to about replacing the boring blond...LeAnn Rimes!

It may be because the most talked about moment of the entire season was this debacle:

Was she drunk? Was it her fault Carly Rose lost? LeAnn says it was 13 year old Carly Rose's nerves that made the duet sound so bad. Well, regardless this performance sparked a lot of media attention. 

LeAnn is very good at keeping herself in the public eye, she is the one tipping off the paparazzi afterall. If Simon wants crazy she may just be the perfect fit.
