This morning Miss Mia woke up at 3:15am. I thought I got her back down, but when I walked out of my bedroom at 4am I saw her standing up in her crib peering around the door frame into the hallway. So I went and got her. She was snuggly, but I could tell she wasn't going back to sleep so I took her downstairs to have breakfast with me. She was ready to rock with her messy hair, she started playing and throwing toys around while I made her bottle and my cereal and coffee. Daddy got up a half hour earlier than usual just in time for me to walk out the door and he looked at our smiley wide awake baby and said, "Well, what are we gonna do this morning?"

It was tough for me to leave this morning. I am so glad I'm not the one that has to drop her off at daycare. I think I'd still be struggling with it and she's nearly a year old. I'm gonna be a mess when we send this little girl off to her first day of school. Thank goodness that's 4 years from now.
