Can we give Mia Fruit?

fruit and veggiesSome people say that if you give baby fruits before they've tried all the different vegetables they won't eat veggies because fruits taste better. My pediatrician said that it really doesn't matter they're going to like what they like no matter what you feed them when.

According to the Gerber meal planner Mia should be having vegetables and fruits at her meal times. I don't want to do this quite yet though because I'm worried about food allergies. I want to feed her one thing at a time until I know she's okay with everything. The doctor says she probably won't have food allergies if no one in our family has them, but better to be safe than sorry I think.

So far Mia has had butternut squash and avacado. I made green beans for her to try tonight. I bought apples when I bought the beans thinking that I may try to make her apples as her first fruit, but now I'm not sure if I should try it or wait a couple more weeks. Mia is 6 1/2 months old.
